1. NOON VIGIL FOR PEACE: THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 16, 2017

We vigil for peace in front of the Rolla Post Office THIS THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 16, 2017, (and all subsequent Thursdays, except Thanksgiving week, until peace is established) from Noon to 1:00 PM. Please try to join us. The temperature is predicted to be in the 50s. If you do not feel comfortable standing with us in front of the Post Office, please consider driving by and showing your support for our message by honking your horn and flashing a peace sign.

2. THANKSGIVING WEEK VIGIL TO BE HELD WED. NOV. 22

We will vigil for Peace on Wed. Nov. 22 at the usual place and time instead of on Thanksgiving Day. The following week we return to Thursday vigils.

3. GREAT RIVERS ENVIRONMENTAL LAW CENTER TO VISIT ROLLA, MON. NOV. 27

Kathleen Henry and Sarah Willey, president and outreach director of Great Rivers Environmental Law Center will visit Rolla on Monday November 27. We will have an open informal event at Panera from 1:00 to 2:30pm. Please come and meet Katy and Sarah.

4. OUR FEARLESS EDITOR ON VACATION

Helen is in California this week. She has succeeded in extinguishing all the wildfires in Northern California and will return to Rolla next week. In the meantime, I will be your interim editor. —Tom

CLUELESS IN ASIA

Wherever Donald Trump went in Asia, he preached War, while demonstrators demanded Peace.

Trump apparently can't understand why a “country of samurai warriors” didn't shoot down a North Korean missile as it flew over Japan. Sounds like Donald's been watching too much television. Maybe some folks would prefer not to have a nuclear war which would likely kill millions, maybe billions.

Not surprisingly, the main stream media (liberal and conservative both) played down anti-war protests, if they bothered to mention them at all.
