January 12, 2010
Dear Friends:

In this newsletter is:
1. THURSDAY NOON VIGIL FOR PEACE
2. WHO WON THE WAR IN IRAQ?

==================
1. THURSDAY NOON VIGIL FOR PEACE
Our weekly noon vigils are on Thursdays. We vigil for peace in front of the Rolla Post Office THIS THURSDAY, January 14, (and all subsequent Thursdays until peace is established) from Noon to 1:00 PM. Please try to join us. The temperature is predicted to be in the low to mid 40s under partly cloudy skies. If you do not feel comfortable standing with us in front of the Post Office, please consider driving by and showing your support for our message by honking your horn and flashing a peace sign.
2. WHO WON THE WAR IN IRAQ?
If you think the United States won the war in Iraq, think again. The Iraqi government has become so bold as to confiscate arms from US contractors working in Iraq, (click here). Where will those arms end up? Your guess is as good as mine.
If you think US oil companies have succeeded in gaining control of Iraqi oil, well, think again. Other countries are reaping the benefits of Iraqi oil contracts, leaving US companies out in the cold, (click here).
And just in case you thought Iraq won the war, just consider the environmental devastation which Iraq has become, (click here or here).
Truth be told, the winner of the Iraq War is the same winner of all previous wars - Nobody.
Well let move on, folks. Afghanistan is where all the heavy fighting and media coverage is now. Who do think will win the Afghan War?
