We vigil for peace in front of the Rolla Post Office THIS THURSDAY, JANUARY 7, 2016, (and all subsequent Thursdays until peace is established) from Noon to 1:00 PM. Please try to join us. The temperature is predicted to be in the 40s. If you do not feel comfortable standing with us in front of the Post Office, please consider driving by and showing your support for our message by honking your horn and flashing a peace sign. 2. TRUMP'S SURREAL CAMPAIGN Just when you thought politics couldn't get any weirder, Donald Trump has come out with a doozy of a TV ad. Check it out, then try to figure out what he hopes to accomplish with it. Here's my theory: The Republican party “leaders” have already decided that Trump is too much, even for them, but they are using him to whip up hate and fear among the masses, so that what they want to do will seem reasonable. The scary thing is, he's dead serious — or is he? 3. BERNIE SANDERS ON GREED Bernie Sanders made a speech today in New York City, telling us what his plans are for Wall Street and the economy, if he is elected President. Sounds good to me! This article contains the full text of his speech. I hope you will read it — he makes the case against Wall Street greed better than anyone else. Here's a quote from the speech: “The reality is that Congress doesn’t regulate Wall Street. Wall Street, its lobbyists and their billions of dollars regulate Congress. We must change that reality, and as president I will.” I hope he gets the chance. 4. THE MISFIT MATHEMATICIAN (Tom's column, http://tomsager.org) a) Vigilante Justice b) Armed Insurrection c) A Racist State — For Sure VIGILANTE JUSTICE Here, to go along with last week's snippet on “the opening of the prison to them that are bound,” is a website listing 1,200 people summarily executed by police in 2015 in the USA — many unarmed. What ever happened to innocent until proven guilty? ARMED INSURRECTION Ammon Bundy and his posse of vigilantes has taken by force of arms federal lands in Oregon belonging to We, the People. The response of the Obama Administration and the media have been deeply muted — going to show that armed insurrectionists are no problem. It's non-violent protesters who pose the real threat to law and order and must be dealt with most harshly. A RACIST STATE — FOR SURE The Israeli Ministry of Education recently banned the book, “Borderlife,” a novel for young adults about a romance between an Israeli girl and an Arab boy. After all, you're supposed to kill 'em, not love 'em. Now the book is selling like hotcakes all over the world. Love conquers all.
