Daddy, Don't Gamble Cartoon About this Cartoon   As this cartoon points out, the social costs in broken families and destroyed lives far outweigh whatever tax revenue comes to the State through gambling. The taxpayers generally pick up the tab for dealing with the results of gambling addiction, while the gambling industry rakes in mega-profits. Here in Missouri, the tax revenue from gambling was supposed to go to schools, but our school system has not improved, nor is it any better funded as a result of permitting the gambling industry to operate Riverboat Casinos in the State. Clearly, more gambling is not the way to fix our school system. ###
